Subaru’s Impreza-based XV has evolved and transitioned to be the Subaru Crosstrek.
Available from June, the Crosstrek features the latest infotainment technologies and intuitive safety systems, creating an enjoyable ride for all occupants no matter the destination.
The Subaru Crosstrek presents a compact body with a rugged and sporty design with a much bolder exterior than its predecessor.
Subaru will offer three Crosstrek models for customers to choose from, including two hybrid variants.
The Subaru Crosstrek Premium petrol variant will be powered by a direct injection 2.0-litre Boxer engine and a Lineartronic transmission with eight-speed paddle shift manual mode.
Two Crosstrek Hybrid variants include a premium specification model and feature a robust Subaru e-Boxer lineartronic transmission with seven-speed manual mode.
The Subaru Crosstrek features 220mm of ground clearance which is what separates it from most of its rivals. It is built on Subaru’s Global Platform, with a refined inner frame that increases cabin strength and delivers a quieter and more comfortable ride.
The vehicle cockpit has received an array of welcomed enhancements to increase user-friendliness. Crosstrek is the first Subaru vehicle to feature wireless smartphone Qi charging.
Additional new features include an 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen; wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and a Digital Multi View Monitor (360-degree digital camera): iImages from four separate cameras are used to create a 360-degree, 3D top-down view, improving visibility on all sides of the vehicle.
Every Subaru Crosstrek variant will feature smart key and push-start ignition, LED headlights (dusk-sensing), roof rails, power-folding door mirrors and 11.6-inch infotainment touch screen.
Continuing Subaru’s commitment to safety, the all-new Subaru Crosstrek has the latest generation EyeSight crash avoidance technology. It features an improved stereo camera and the addition of a new Wide-Angle Monocular Camera. This newly adopted mono camera enables recognition of motorcycles and pedestrians at an even wider angle when traveling at low speeds. It can initiate pre-collision braking in a greater range of situations. Crosstrek’s latest generation EyeSight also adds speed sign recognition, a lane centring function and a wider field of view
Furthermore, the addition of a Driver Monitoring System – Driver Focus (DMS)* offers another layer of safety, as well as convenience, to help reduce the chance of accidents.
