In this video, we test the Maxxis AT811 Razr AT Tyre’s ability to perform on a variety of surfaces, from smooth asphalt and sand dunes to mud and rutted gravel.
When it comes to tyres, AT or All-Terrain, with their deeper tread patterns and firmer construction tend to favour venturing off-tarmac, often at the expense of on-road comfort and performance. Not when it comes to the AT811 Razr AT Tyre, claims well-respected off-road tyre manufacturer Maxxis.
For although their latest AT tyre the 811 Razr clearly targets working UTEs with sizes to suit all popular NZ models, according to Maxxis, it boasts a unique tread that offers both a quieter ride and high traction on all surfaces, plus a superb tyre design and tread compound that helps prevent damage and improves performance and braking on all terrains and in all conditions.
They say its zig-zag multi-angle biting and 3-dimensional sipes, semi-continuous outer and multi-angled inner tread blocks and anti-chip resisting compounds all combine to provide a robust AT tyre with superior traction and confident braking.
We tested the AT811 Razr on a variety of terrains, from sand and mud to gravel and tarmac and found that it did everything that Maxxis said it would. It felt confident on all surfaces and particularly strong under braking. It’s a very versatile AT tyre.
