The 2021 Toyota Hilux has turned up the heat on the hotly contested utility market with a range of new and redesigned protection accessories, many of which are showcased on the new local flagship, the Mako.
To enhance protection, functionality, comfort and styling Toyota has launched several newly introduced and re-designed accessories for the 2021 Hilux range.
Toyota globally has invested more than $10 million and thousands of hours in the design, engineering and prototyping of new accessories and components for the 2021 Toyota Hilux.
Toyota New Zealand’s General Manager of Conversions and Accessories, Spencer Morris said investment in development ensured the customer got quality and functional components for their vehicles, to suit a wide variety of work and recreation needs.
“The new and redesigned accessories for Hilux, not only add functional and cosmetic appeal they are also designed to ensure that the Hilux Toyota Safety Systems (TSS) are unaffected and continue to function as designed,” says Spencer.
“Fitting our range of over 300 Toyota Genuine or approved accessories also ensures that the customer’s Hilux new vehicle warranty is maintained.”
The all-new accessories include; black 18-inch alloy wheels, wider flares, matte black bonnet protector and tail light covers, a canopy mounted aluminium shelving system accessible through the side opening windows, a wellside-mounted aluminium drawer system, handy lockable trundle drawer for variants fitted with an aluminium tray body, and a rear chassis mounted stowable Tub Step to allow easy access to the ute wellside, rated at 150kg.
Better bars
Toyota here also redesigned, engineered and tested a range of bull bars (alloy and steel), nudge bars (polished stainless steel and black), towbars (fixed or removable tongue), and wellside accessories and other vehicle protective items to complement the new exterior styling of the facelifted models.
To further complement the range of TSS-compatible Toyota Genuine bull bars and nudge bars the company has introduced a Toyota Genuine LED Light Bar (work light) and T-Custom wiring harness to suit. Toyota Genuine bull bars are also compatible with the Toyota-enhanced Warn Winches available with both heavy-duty steel or a lightweight synthetic rope.
Hilux continues to be available with other locally developed and manufactured Toyota Genuine and T Custom accessories including steel and timber tray bodies, a huge range of canopies and tonneau cover options, wellside liners, seat covers, steps, and roof racks with fittings to carry bikes, skis or kayaks.
All Toyota Genuine Accessories are backed by a 2 year/100,000km* warranty, including labour costs when fitted by a Toyota dealer.
