Staying safe on the road with PME

News and General

Performance Mechanical & Engineering Ltd (PME) is the New Zealand importer and distributors of tyre pressure monitors  from Australian brand iCheckTPMS.

iCheckTPMS monitors have been available in NZ for a number of years and when the opportunity arose to become the NZ  importer PME jumped at the chance.

The monitors are a great addition to any towing set-up: trailer, camper, caravan, boat or horse float.

PME uses them on its own vehicles and off-road caravan.

They offer peace of mind while towing by giving advance warning of tyre issues, giving a clear indication when a tyre starts to lose pressure.

This is particularly important when towing single axle trailers. Underinflated or overinflated tyres can lead to blowouts, reduce traction and lead to uneven wear – so a reliable TPMS can save owner both money and stress!

The team at iCheckTPMS has developed the first tyre pressure monitoring system with ‘on’ and ‘off’ road modes for both car  and caravan, enabling the user to switch between modes when airing down the 4WD or caravan tyres without having to  manually change the TPMS settings to on and off-road tyre pressures.

The iCheckTPMS monitor is solar- powered and as a dash mount system it gets its power from its built-in solar panel  meaning no ugly cables to worry about and it can be installed within minutes. Even in low light or no sun situations the built-in  lithium battery gives weeks of use before the need for charging via the included USB cable.

A must have for car and caravanning use and especially off-roading enthusiasts. Everyone knows that driving on a flat tyre is  the worst thing for safety and for the tyre.

Now motorists can be alerted to any abnormalities immediately, address the  issue sooner and save themselves a crash or serious damage!

iCheckTPMS is able to turn a potential ‘trip-ruining experience’ into a quick fix and give drivers the peace of mind their tyres  are all running at the right pressure at all times, all without needing to get out and check them by hand.

The team at PME also loves the iCheckTPMS Quick Connect Automatic Tyre Deflators which quickly and accurately deflate  each tyre and stop automatically at the pre-set PSI. These Automatic Tyre Deflators simply clip on – no screwing on required.  Simply dial in a desired PSI using the micrometer-style laser engraved scale and let them go to work!

No one likes wasting time squatting down and running from tyre to tyre trying to set each one to the correct PSI. For off- roaders who frequently air down for off-road adventures, the iCheckTPMS Automatic Tyre Deflators are a must have. The  iCheckTPMS tyre deflators are small, lightweight and easy to use. With a lightweight alloy body and laser etched markings  they are built tough and will last many years making off-roading more enjoyable.
