Ironman 4x4’s new showroom

4WD Accesories, Events

Saturday February 24 was a big day for Aussie company Ironman 4x4 and its exclusive New Zealand distributor, Christchurch-based Terraquip NZ.

That was the day that Terraquip NZ officially opened its new, state-of-the-art interactive 150m2 Ironman 4x4 showroom at 174 Waterloo Road, Hornby.

On display in the new showroom is Ironman 4x4’s full range of 4WD accessories and outdoor products including bull bars, suspension, recovery gear, lights and camping gear and to say that company director Vince Rietveld is proud of it is an understatement.

Newest & largest

“We believe this is the newest and largest 4WD product showroom in New Zealand where accessories can be tested including spot lights, light bars, fridges, compressors and winches,” he told NZ4WD magazine’s Niki O’Brien a the official opening function.

The new showroom was officially opened with massive opening specials, giveaways, free food and drinks as well as a bouncy castle and entertainment for the kids.  Special guests included Tom Jacob, Managing Director, Ironman 4x4 International, Simon Park, Ironman Australian Sales Manager and Ironman 4x4 dealers from all over New Zealand.

Tom Jacobs is the man who has taken Ironrnan 4x4 from a small, locally-focused $AUS6 million company to a truly international  one now worth $AUS160 million, something he attributes to hard work and a strong brand.

"A brand is about being authentic. You have to live it, believe in it, nurture it, invest in it, be determined and consistent. And be curious."

A number of Ironman 4x4 vehicles fully kitted out with a full range of accessories including bull bars, side steps, lights, tents and tool boxes were on display at the official opening of the new showroom.

Company history

Ironman 4x4’s roots are in metallurgy, specifically spring making, the roots of the current company in a Melbourne based suspension parts manufacturer, named Jacob Spring Works, set up in 1958.

The next big change was in 1982 when that company became JSW Parts, (short for Jacob Spring Works) to design and supply leaf and coil springs for cars, trucks, buses and 4×4 vehicles. JSW Parts soon became well known as a manufacturer and supplier of suspension parts all around the world.

In 1988 JSW Parts launched the Ironman 4×4 brand of springs and suspension parts in response to the increasing popularity of 4×4 vehicles…and the rest, as they say, is history.

Recognizing that standard suspension systems alone were not designed to cope with additional loads of bull bars, winches and extra fuel tanks, and driven by explosive sales of 4×4s, in 2004 the Ironman 4×4 range of products expanded quickly to meet the demand.

Today the vast continent of Australia serves as the perfect testing ground for Ironman 4×4 products, and many fleet and military organisations throughout the world have acknowledged the quality design and manufacture of Ironman 4×4 products.

Together with these serious solutions, Ironman 4×4 products are also chosen the world over by offroad competition teams and drivers, and have successfully completed the Dakar Rally.

Ironman 4×4 provide great value for money solutions for all sectors within the 4×4 industry, with a versatile and forward thinking approach, whether it be recreational, military or commercial use we at Ironman 4×4 can safely say that you are using world class products.
