Onehunga, Auckland-based manufacturing engineering firm Aro Brothers (Aro Bros) is the trusted name in trailers and towbars. The company was founded in 1960 by brothers Jim & Harold Aro and is still manufacturing today with Jim’s daughter Shirley and her business partner Alex at the helm.
As well as designing and building custom trailers for clients (domestic and commercial) all over the country Aro Bros also specialises in the repair and alteration of all types of trailers. They do it all, from repair and alteration of trailers prior to re-galvanizing, to repairing brakes on existing braked trailers or retro-fitting brakes to non-braked trailers.
As part of this all-round capability Aro Bros manufacture axles and replaces bearings and parts as required. And free WoF checks can be given prior to taking the trailer to the testing station.
The company has always manufactured its own line of Aro tow bars (and has done so since 1960) and has also recently become the local agent for the number one two bar brand in Australia, Hayman Reese.
With the advent of hi-tech CAN bus wiring systems and LED lights fitting a tow bar to any contemporary car, ute, or SUV is now a specialised task. Fortunately it is one that Aro Bros is absolutely up to speed with. They fit an ECU box to vehicles with this new electrical set up to avoid any issues with the vehicle’s own engine management systems.
Commercial Van “fit outs” can also be carried out at their Onehunga factory…….Installation of floors, internal shelving, cargo barriers, roof racks, and the towbar with step to complete the job for any busy tradesman.
Recently Hi Ace Vans have also been “fitted out” with ventilation in the roof and various dog cages within the Van to transport several dogs at once for “dog walkers”
Ladder racks also manufactured onto Utility vehicles, for any carrying or carting purpose that is required.
Buses requiring towbars are also a large part of Aro’s business. When overhead shelving inside is required for the passengers luggage, Aro’s also manufacture to order.
COF towbars, requiring the LT400 certification, are also a specialty part of Aro’s business including the ferry lashing hooks for the vehicles crossing over by ferry to the South Island.
Large freight carrying trucks are now using Aro Bros for floor & headboard replacement, as it is a strict requirement of COF regulations to maintain a truck floor in 100% good condition……..Aro's can send their representative to the sight to view and quote on the customers requirement.
Customers with Motorhomes requiring towbars to carry various, bikes, boxes or equipment can call in to speak with Alex anytime to discuss their requirements………………
So, from a tow bar install to a full custom trailer or upgrade/repair/maintenance of an existing trailer for your business or recreational use Aro Bros is the name to remember. For more information go to the company’s website at www.arobros.co.nz or telephone 0-9-622 1167.
